Lazio Not Open to Early Departure of Felipe Anderson

Lazio intend to take the conversations with Felipe Anderson down to the wire despite the June 30^th expiration date of his contract. Juventus are waiting in the wings to snap him up for free, while some Saudi clubs have moved to get him in January, Il Messaggero informs.

The Biancocelesti have turned down a €10M offer for the winger from the emerging league. West Ham are entitled to 50 percent of the sum should he depart during the winter.

Lazio director Angelo Fabiani commented on Felipe Anderson and his future.

“We’re not interested in the chatter. We surely won’t part ways with him now. Our proposal is still on the table.”

The Biancocelesti tendered €3.5M annually with an option, while the Juventus could give him €500k more per year. The competition has already forced the capital club to up their bid. The veteran currently makes €2.5M and accepted a pay cut compared to his West Ham days to return a couple of years ago, but he’d like to recoup the money now.

The attacker has had an underwhelming campaign so far but provided an assist off the bench against Udinese.

They must be confident in their chances if they aren’t entertaining the offers, which can’t possibly be too high for a 30-year-old. Despite the loud buzz about it, Juventus signing him doesn’t make a lot of sense given their tactics and their new stingier era.
