Former Everton defender Yerry Mina has opened up about his future in the game.

The ex-Toffee is now out of contract, having helped the club avoid relegation last season.

The Colombian centre half admitted he is unlikely to renew with the Toffees, but has other options in Europe.

He said to AS in Spain: "I am waiting for God's direction. Let it be a place where his presence is with me.

I just want to be prepared for the moment that touches me, wherever I go with everything.

"We are in talks In France, there are also options, but the transfer window is just beginning, and I am calm."

On returning to South America, Mina replied: "I am young, but Santa Fe was one of the teams that opened the doors for me, one of the few teams because I went to many.

"I went to del Valle, Cali, Amrica and nothing. Pasto and Santa Fe do, and I am very grateful to them for what they did for me and for the love they have for me.

"My thinking is to continue in Europe, but at some point, if it happens, I would return with great joy for that love they gave me."
