Chicago Bears sign 2024 third-round pick Kiran Amegadjie to rookie contract
David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with one of their intriguing rookie prospects acquired during the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

According to Aaron Wilson , Kiran Amegadjie and the Bears agreed to a $5.914 million deal that includes a $1.121 million signing bonus.

Amegadjie has the potential to be a really big steal for the Bears in the 2024 draft class if he can develop into his potential at the next level. The main thing with Amegadjie right now is rehabbing from his partially torn quad and return to the field before training camp.

At least that's the current timetable for the rookie offensive lineman, as confirmed by head coach Matt Eberflus prior to the first day of rookie minicamp over the weekend.

"I'm really excited to get in with [offensive line coach Chris Morgan] and get the playbook down," Amegadjie told reporters at Halas Hall. "Do everything I can mentally to be ready when my time comes physically."

As a local player, Amegadjie grew up a Bears fan and even ran into his new head coach for the first time at Kemper Lakes Golf Club, a golf club his father belongs to.

"He didn't know who I was, and I told him one day I would be sitting in his office and the next year they would be looking to draft me," Amegadjie said via the team's website. "That's the biggest thing I've been dreaming about for so long and something that I wanted to happen, and it happened. Honestly, I can't even believe it."

It's a great story for a player who could eventually turn into a real difference maker for the Bears offense. Once Amegadjie is back on the field, the Bears plan to play him at both tackle and guard with the idea being that he can become a valuable depth piece at both positions while also being the swing tackle as well.

"I'm learning everything, I want to be as versatile as possible," Amegadjie said. "I want to be able to contribute everywhere that I can. I'm not set on one thing. I'm a football player, I'll play wherever you need me."

It's a great mindset to have out of your rookie who now is able to make things official with the team.
